The Hollywood Jewelry Manufacturing Company was founded by Joseph Chorbajian and others in New York around 1938, while the first marked pieces began to appear around 1948. Hollycraft started inscribing the date of manufacture on their costume jewelry pieces after 1950, which means that pieces produced in that decade can be securely dated.
