Nikolaos Asprogerakas was born in Patras in 1879. He studied at The School of Fine Arts, and later continued his studies in Paris.

From 1916 he teaches line and free line drawing and from 1919 was appointed a professor in painting at the National Technical University of Athens, Department of Architecture a position he held until his death.

He is best known for his portrait paintings and beautiful atmospheric landscapes and seascapes where he excelled. Additionally, he produced considerable religious work for several churches.

He held a number of solo exhibitions and participated in a number of group exhibitions internationally such as the 1934 Venice Biennale.

His works are found in many private and public collections such as: The National Gallery, Athens, The Hellenic Maritime Museum and the Katsigras Collection.
