NOTE

This brooch illustrates a line from the popular song ?Twelve Days of Christmas? depicting an oversized partridge among yellow fruits of a pear tree. Unlike goldsmiths working in precious materials, costume jewelry designers could afford to create spectacular pieces with seasonal subject matter, which could be worn only once a year.
