Pomerantz Co. NY Jewelry (1920s-1960s)
Herman Pomerantz was born in 1901 and entered the costume jewelry business in the 1920s. For a while, he worked with his business partner Max Silverman.
He patented several designs during the 1930s and early 1940s. In addition to costume jewelry, Pomerantz also produced unusual metal belts and large showy buckles made from a variety of materials. The brand was also well known for producing buttons, including women’s cuff buttons.
Herman Pomerantz designed jewelry until the mid-1950s, though the company continued making jewelry well into the 1960s. Herman Pomerantz died in 1967.
