Givenchy Jewelry (1970-today)
Count Hubert James Marcel Taffin de Givenchy (1927-2018), son of a Marquise established the House of Givenchy in 1952, after the liberation of France from Nazi occupation. At the time he was the youngest creator of haute couture.
His first collection was a resounding success. His 38-year collaboration with his muse and close friend Audrey Hepburn began with the movie ‘Sabrina’ in 1954. Ever since he created clothes for Hepburn both in life and on-screen for movies such as ‘Funny Face’ and ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s’ which achieved global success.
In 1970 Givenchy expanded into the costume jewelry business creating collectable pieces ever since.
