Cerrito Jewelry (1949-? and 1977-2005)
Cerrito was founded by Italian designer Giovanni Antonio Cerrito in Rhode Island, New York in 1948. The brand gained fame for its beautiful hand-made fashion jewelry.
The Cerrito designs included ‘The Symbol of Love’, and red rose enamelled brooches made of gold-tone alloy. The hand-made procedure used a two-layer coating of 18 and 22-carat gold. The end products have a lightness that is not inherent in the metal they are made of.
After a small break, the company was re-established in 1977 until 2005 when it ceased operations.
