Avon, the California Perfume Company was founded in 1886. In 1939 the company expanded into skin care, talcum powder and vanity sets.
Avon Jewelry began in 1963, originally as a gift for purchasing a particular product. The first collection that customers could buy was presented in 1970. By 1975, Avon was the world’s largest costume jewelry producer for women as well as men.
Avon’s reputation for offering high-quality yet affordable costume jewelry began to attract notable designers to the line. Among the most notable collaborations was the one with Elizabeth Taylor.
