Alexander Korda Jewelry (1940s)
Alexander Korda was a motion picture director and producer, not a jewelry designer or manufacturer. However, jewelry was made in association with several of his movies marked with his name.
Silson, a costume jewelry brand located in New York, created jewelry for Korda’s film ‘The four feathers’ around 1939.
Rice-Weiner, another jewelry firm with offices in New York and a factory in Providence, Rhode Island, made jewelry for Korda’s ‘Thief of Bagdad’ in 1940 and ‘The Jungle Book’ in 1942.
Pieces for ‘Thief of Bagdad’ are marked with the film’s and Korda’s names. The jewelry made for the movie ‘The Jungle Book’ is marked Alexander Korda.
